Hi Ekim:
Thank you for posting this beautiful story and video here! I found it yesterday via Twitter as it was shared by Virtual Hospice.
Philip Gould was remarkably insightful and brave. What a selfless gift he and his family gave to us all by sharing his experience and his feelings about dying and death. What is also significant to me, is Philip's chosen words when describing the passing of his Dad and then how these same sentiments were later repeated when expressed by Philip's wife after he died.
Bliss and rapture are not a typical words one thinks of when contemplating our own death, nor are these adjectives commonly considered for describing the experience when one witnesses the death of a loved one, and yet it is precisely these words I felt compelled to use when describing my Mom's last breath.
The experience of rapture and bliss at the moment of death does not negate the fact that those living on without their loved ones will mourn, but it does help, I think, to know that whatever the person dying ultimately experiences it is not to be feared.
